Commercial refrigeration installation in London requires F-Gas certified engineers, correct equipment sizing, and full commissioning documentation. Our team has been completing refrigeration installations for London food businesses since 2009, covering restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and food production facilities across all 32 boroughs.
A poorly specified installation costs more in the long run. Over-sized equipment cycles too frequently and wears components prematurely. Under-sized equipment cannot maintain safe temperatures during peak load. Our installation service begins with a free site survey to confirm the right equipment for your specific operation.
What Our Installation Service Covers
We carry out commercial refrigeration installation for every type of equipment used in London food businesses.
Refrigerated Display Units
Display refrigeration includes open-fronted multideck units for supermarkets and convenience stores, glass-door upright display fridges for restaurants and delis, and refrigerated counters for food service operations. We supply and install units from leading manufacturers including Foster, True, and Hoshizaki, and configure them to your specific temperature requirements.
Under-Counter and Built-In Refrigeration
Under-counter fridges and freezers are the workhorses of every commercial kitchen. We install under-counter refrigerated prep tables, bottle coolers, saladette units, and pizza prep units. All installations include correct electrical connection, drainage arrangements, and commissioning to manufacturer specifications.
Blast Chillers and Blast Freezers
Blast chilling is a legal requirement for cook-chill operations under UK food hygiene legislation. We install blast chillers and blast freezers from all major manufacturers, including Irinox, Williams, and Foster. Each installation includes a full temperature performance test and HACCP documentation.
Commercial Ice Machines
Ice machines require correct water supply, drainage, and refrigerant connection. We install commercial ice machines from Hoshizaki and Brema, the two most widely used commercial ice machine brands in the UK. Installation includes water filtration where required and commissioning of the ice production cycle.
Cold Room Installations
Cold rooms are our most complex installation type. We design cold rooms from modular panel systems (Huurre, Viessmann, or custom-built) to your exact dimensions and temperature requirements. Cold room installation includes the panel structure, refrigeration plant, evaporator, door furniture, and temperature monitoring system. We also install cold room racking and shelving to maximise usable storage volume.
The Installation Process
Our installation process follows a structured sequence that confirms the right outcome and minimises disruption to your operation.
Free Site Survey
Every installation begins with a free site survey. Our engineer visits your premises to assess the installation location, electrical supply capacity, drainage arrangements, and ventilation requirements. We also review your operational profile to confirm the correct equipment specification.
Quotation and Design
Following the survey, we produce a detailed quotation with equipment specification, installation scope, and timescale. For cold room installations, we include a dimensioned design drawing showing the proposed layout. We are transparent about what is included and what is not.
Installation and Commissioning
Installation is carried out by our own directly employed engineers. We do not subcontract refrigeration work. On completion, every installation is fully commissioned: temperatures are verified across the operating range, electrical connections are tested, and F-Gas records are completed. You receive a commissioning certificate and a full set of documentation for your food safety management system.
Handover and Training
We provide a handover briefing for your kitchen or facilities team covering correct operation, temperature monitoring procedures, and the first signs of a potential problem. This training is included in every installation at no additional charge.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a commercial refrigeration installation take in London?
Installation timescales depend on the equipment type. Under-counter refrigeration units are typically installed and commissioned in one day. Cold room installations range from 2 days for a simple single-temperature room to over a week for large multi-zone builds. We confirm the expected programme at the quotation stage.
Do you supply the equipment as well as install it?
Yes. We supply and install, giving you a single point of responsibility. We have trade accounts with all major commercial refrigeration manufacturers and distributors, which means our equipment prices are competitive. We can also install equipment supplied directly by you, if preferred.
What documentation do I receive after installation?
You receive an F-Gas commissioning certificate, electrical test certificate, manufacturer documentation and warranty registration, temperature performance records, and our commissioning report. This documentation set is designed to satisfy FSA requirements and support any future warranty claims.
